motorguide shaft replaceble?

Hit a rock pretty hard and it bent the shaft so the head will barely turn.

I'm pretty sure I can get by with just the outer shaft IF I can even find one

Any suggestions, openions? First time I've had one of these apart.

Its real easy, just be careful removing the top gear, they break easy.

I did break a tooth off the top gear trying to force it to turn :LOL2:


Anybody got any idear on where a man can find parts, my biggest problem is there are no model or serial numbers left on the motor to go by

minn kota shafts have lifetime warranty! motor guide cheaper, but there are benefits to spending a little extra!....sorry..know it doesn't help you out of your predicament.

If anybody is ever in the same situation I searched motorguide service center and found several places to get parts from. The pipe was less than 40, the pinion nut was around $20. Takes about 5 minutes to take one apart

I've seen some old, old...really old motorguides....but never an old min kota. Just my experience.
