Movin' right along :wink: The carpet will sure quiet things down. Have you ever seen on the fences at the baseball diamonds, how they split that corregated drain pipe & slip it over the top of the fence? I wonder if you could find some smaller (like 2.5") and slip it over to cover the gunwales? It'd cover-up the bent spots & make it a little purdier 8)

The minnkota #36 is just over $100 new (I think I saw one recently for $109?), so you should easily be able to buy both items new & stay well under 2 bills.

BPS, Cabelas, Walmart etc all have the MK 30 pound thrust for 109 - 119. That leaves you with 80 - 90 for a battery, which should be more than enough to find a good deep cycle battery.

Looks great! Here in GA, you can get a T34 at Wal-Mart for $99... I just looked at them tonight. The Everstart Maxx deep cycle 29 battery is $74, then if you have an old battery, you can get $9 back for the core charge.
