After months of reading great posts all over this site and taking note of what is good and what is bad out there......and intense conversations with the VP of apropreations and aqusistions and the Director of Finance < both being my wife > I was able to purchase a future canvas...a 1992 Smokercraft Resorter 151 with a 1991 evinrude 28hp SPL Side console for 2000.00 few pics below not sure what im gonna do yet other than add bow mount TM update the DF add some tunes. i might change the seat for the console to a box and seat mounted to a hinge top for storage instead of the post and possibly change the dual doors over battery and gas tank to a one piece hinge top thats little wider for a rear fishing platform. I have a shallow lake soo i could look into the aftermarket power trim n tilt units like CMC. Wife did say that it could use some new matching seats a power pedestal for her and some paint sooo we shall see. But i least now have a nice decent canvas to work from Thank for all your posts that I followed they all helped

That boat looks great, trailer too!

Doesn't look like there is much that it needs.. Your right though, that rear deck area with the way it's hinged is kinda weird.

I would just slap a TM on it and get 2 matching seats and enjoy it for a month or so till it gets cold....After a few trips out you will know better what you want to do to it over the winter.

it is nice though its divided battery for main motor and some storage on one side....gas tank and room for something on the other instead of just open like on my fathers 94 Lowe but a wider soild piece hinged or wider soild with 2 smaller hatches for the battery and gas tank to make a platform would be pretty nice i think but it gets a major shakedown cruise and some fishing in this weekend gonna be almost 80s here soo ill figure alot out for the future then

I dont have pictures yet...but i did mount a hand-me-down Motorguide Stealth TM on the bow along with a old hummingbird 200dx i have the transducer on the bottom of the trolling motor. But i have ran into a snag with the 28hp I have a post in the Motor section already but in a nutshell she ran great hit 23 24 mph at high speed runs for the first 15 20 mins n then up n quit then only would start up n run for 10 sec with choke lever off or on in any position...that went on for like 5 10 mins n then she started right up but ran like crap missed bogged down then full then would bog could only get 15 16 out then at high speed ...hoping all i did when i put fresh new gas in is i shook up the tank too much and dislodged some dirt i am picking up a new plastic tank and new tank/motor supply line this week waiting for manual n parts book too but the TM n DF worked great oh i used premium gas 92 oct and penzoil marine 2 cycle oil bout 16 to 17 oz and some stabil

That looks like a great boat. I might buy a similar boat (same size & same motor). Did you get 24mph with one or two people in the boat?

2 guy im 187 n my brotherinlaw weights bout 170 n fishing gear full 6 gal tank and 3 batteries.....and to update i drained the gas and flashlighted the tank did see some crud, dirt, rust and stuff soooo i will be definitely getting a new plastic tank now

Well...its been awhile...but got an update on the motor issue...it appeared when i pulled the carb off i found a screw lodged back in the leafs ??..reeds ?? thank god it didnt go thru... but it came from the front of the carb above the butterfly..orifice plug the print called it rebuilt it with a new kit..new plugs..and man o man o man it now runs great i was sorry i had to put it her up for the winter...but now it gives me time to think of a few things to do...mostly electrical...fuseblock for everything..adding a 2nd battery...onboard charger...changing the bilge pump...dreaming of a better TM and DF...little piddily things like that...id would of worked on her in the garage but i have hunting seasons and ice fishing to do along with my winter honeydo list from the big boss...I have a few doodles about the back area of the gastank and batteries making a platform...when i get something i like ill post see what you all think and if its a good idea

I have the exact boat as yours and I needed to replace the floor last winter and I made the rear deck modification you are thinking of doing. I extended the rear deck to the end of the rod holder on the sarboard side. That allowed me to use the original crossmember and most of the remaining aluminum to make a seperation between the batteries and the gas tank side. I then hinged it from the stern. It now has room for twin 6 gallon tanks. Moved the fuse/switch panel to the crossmember. Works great. I'll look for some pics of what I did.

ok its been awhile due to winter and and the wife likes a nice clean warm car thru the winter months ...but it was nice out today so i spent a lil time looking at it and should the bunks sit close or even touching a rib on the bottom of the boat ?? does that make it harder or easier to load also would a center roller on the crossmember on the back of the trailer make it eaiser to load i have a roller in the middle of the trailer. But no area to mount a roller in the middle because this shorelander trailer has no center frame. Also if you look in the pics previous owner appears to have coated the bottom of the boat with some type of thick, hard to sand substance almost looks like an epoxy anyone got any ideas ?

I made the annual rite of passage....Boat is uncovered.....but No real updates or changes.......I replaced the bilge pump since it seemed to spin but not pump water.....got pics of the hand-me-down TM mount and FF mount not thrilled with the TM but it works for the moment and it was free sooooo that is all good.
