I was recently told about this site. I planned on replacing the wood flooring in my boat and now my project has turned into much more... :D Here are some pics as of how it stands right now. I spent the last two Sundays working on it with a co-worker.

Here are some before pics of the boat.
This is what I plan to do from start to finish (who knows how long that is going to take. lol):
1a. weld bottom holes closed
1. add aluminum flooring
2. add dry storage
3. add gun box/rod storage
4. add seats
5. steel flex the bottom (maybe the sides. have to figure out if the steelflex will effect camo ethching)
6. paint the boat (need to figure out how to do this)
7. put hydroturf on the flat surfaces (need to figure out how to make my edges look good)

It's been I while since my last update. I finally got in a fight w/ my girlfriend last weekend so that she wouldn't want to be around me and I could get some work done on my boat. lol, kind of funny. kind of. But not really. Not at all.

The second coat of paint that was put on top of the orginal was peeling in the back of the boat. The reason it started peeling was because of the bass tracker vynl stickers. Whoever painted it last made a rookie mistake by not first removing the stickers. It made the paint job look bad. After it was stripped I had to put some extra work into getting the glue off were the stickers were. In one of my pictures, you can see the yellowish glue.

I got the outside paint removed with aircraft stripper. Next will be the inside and the bottom.

In addition, now that the paint is pulled back I found at least another dozen holes that are going to need some welding. boooo

Let me know what you think.

#-o Sticker glue is definately the work of the devil! That mess should be outlawed in all 50 states and some 3rd world countries!

Great job on removing the old paint. What kind of self-etching primer are you planning to go back with?

I finally got most of the paint off my boat. I left a little paint on. You can see it a little bit on the side walls in the pics. Do I need to get it off 100% or am I good enough how it is. I really feel like I need to get it a 100%, but I just might be wasting my time (deminshing returns). I have not exactly decided on what I am going to paint it. Some sort of camo pattern to match the marsh in my area. But, as far as what type of paint... I have no idea. Suggestions. I need to go back through some of the searches and pick out some of my favorite projects to help me decide. I do want to use steel tex on the bottom to help out with some of my rivets.
