I've seen a few projects with this done already but I'm thinking of cutting a hatch in the front seat of my sears 1436 and mounting a swivel seat on a hinged door with turn-loc fasteners to secure it while underway.I also have an on board charger that will be hidden in the compartment as well .I'm thinking of going total electric on this boat just curious if I need 2 batteries or one large one to run a Minn Kota PD 45LBS trolling motor, Navigation Lights, fish finder, and possibly an inverter or LED lights for night fishing. Any ideas or links to similar projects will be appreciated .

I would do 2 just so you always have a backup. When you are all electric and you run out of battery you are dead on the water.

Progress : Trolling Motor deck , Fish Finder Bracket , Battery hatch . I need some ideas for making a hinged door to mount a swivel seat over the battery ?

After I wire brushed the diamond plate and wiped it down with acetone, I sprayed it with self-etching primer and applied light gray Tuff Coat from BPS to the trolling motor deck. I added a co-pilot , the remote control is too cool !

To jgp12000... I just rolled the entire inside of my Tracker Topper 1436 with textured Rustoleum bed liner. It turned out nice. 1 gallon was plenty. I used a foam roller and a cheap paint brush for the tight spots. So far so good. It set up well...

Hey, I am also thinking about cutting out a compartment in my middle seat like you did. Do you have any concerns about taking flotation foam out of the boat? Do you think this might compromise the integrity of the boat? That's been my concern. I'm just curious what others think about it... I love the idea though! Great job on the 1436, man!

I would like to see pics of your boat, does the Rustoleum bedliner come in colors or just black ? I looked at several projects before I took the foam out, some boats have no foam. It's just for flotation so it doesn't sink . I still have foam in the rear seat and the original bow seat under the deck. If you ever took on enough water to sink you would have bigger problems to deal with , hopefully that will never happen to anyone .

The Rustoleum comes in black only. I purchased 1 gallon and 1 spray can at WalMart. Me and a buddy of mine are working on this boat together and trying to do it on the cheap. If you're looking for colors, I would check out https://www.durabakcompany.com/marine.htm or https://www.grizzlygrip.com/Order_Options-content.aspx ... These products get great reviews and come in colors.

The prep work is key prior to rolling/painting on the liner!!!

I have a few bad spots that need to be touched up. I think it will look really good once I'm done... Available time and cold weather might push me into next year before I can finish. I hope to post some pics at some point.

Good luck!

I just added a SliderG5 seat mount to alleviate the problem of the tiller handle hitting the seat.
