I got a great new Humminbird sonar/GPS for Christmas and am now looking for a good Navionics package for it. Any suggestions?

I think you want to look at either the Hotmaps or Hotmaps Premium.

I'm about to get the Hotmaps Premium for my HDS 7 on the bow.

I do have a Humminbird 788ci on my boat at the rear, but with the map that is on there, it doesn't really show that much. I'm getting rid of this unit and putting another HDS on the back to link up the the HDS 7.

russ do a search and look for last years version of the hot maps prem. you can find them at a lower price what you loose is the new HD lakes they add for the new model \compare the list of the 2 versions and see if it is worth the extra $$$$ i saved $75 getting the older model

thanks redbug.. I kept seeing last years model, but I never could find if the ONE lake I wanted was on there in HD - Carters Lake which is listed as "Western/Carters" in Murray GA.

I don't know if HD will really make that big of a difference or not, but I don't want to be upset if I get it.

I bought the Lowrance Fishing Hot Spots Pro USA, and I bought it because I thought it would have that lake on there with the 1' contour lines. Of course, when I get to the lake and turn it on, it doesn't.... so I am SOL on this card, but I've already got it sold luckily because of the stuff it shows on another lake people here fish.

edit.... I just found the 2009 premium lake list and of course my lake is not on this one in HD... does the HD model make that big of a difference?

from what i understand the HD maps are added as the hotmaps company does new surveys of the lakes.
so I would say it does make a difference. the hd maps also give contour lines in 1' depth changes as opposed to 5 or 10 ft on the older maps.

another way to go is the get the
HOT MAPS EXPLORER program not sure of price now but i paid $20 for it and it came with one hd download free.
it covers all the lakes in the hot maps catalog
again not all lakes come in HD at this point.
