No reason to have to drill any holes in the bow, but it may make the framework that much easier to install.

I used a block of wood that was shaped like the bow on my v-hull, glued and bolted it on. No framework needed.

If you opt to frame the bow area out, just lay a few of your 2 x 2 pieces on the floor from the seat towards the bow and see the options. Looking from the side, it will take a triangular shape to match the contour of the hull.

No, no flex. I used a piece of 3/4, and it covered the entire bench to bow.

I'm not sure if I have a pic on here or not, but there isn't much of the 3/4 that isn't supported. Maybe 2 sq.ft.??? Although I've stood on it, and fished, it really isn't big enough for it, and was more of a tabletop area to store stuff.

I had kind of the opposite setup, but I think you could fill the bow area from your front seat with a build up using all plywood, including the bracing and put it in place and just screw it into the seat top. That is how mine is attached and it's very stiff. Use several coats of sealer as the other folks have recommended. Good luck on your project.

Looking at it I think you could probably build it in a way you only need to anchor up there in frount above the water line. Or possibly use the bow peice to hang a support from.

As far as framing... I would think 1x1 or aluminum would do just fine weight wise. Either should be strong enough if done right...Just no pressure treat.

I was thinking about this thread... I meant 2x2 not 1x1 and I didn't mean not to treat the supports.....don't know why I thought of it actually. I just realized that I hadn't typed what I meant...lol

Lol thanks for all your guys help. I think I got it figured out just need to get the wood and I'll start on it and show some pics when I start. Thanks again
