Hey guys ,
I am new to the forum and have been following the mods now for awhile.
Now i have a question.
I have a 12' grumman and want to take the front bench out.
I first thought about drilling the rivets out holding the bench in .A total of about 26 and then re-riveting the holes. But then when I took another look at it , I thought I could just cut the seat out with a Dremmel and avoid all the re-riveting.
What would you do?
Thanks
I value all opinions

I cut mine out and painted over them. No one ever notices and they don't bother me.

we had a similar problem in ours and i cut the aluminium down first and thought i could deal with it but its a eyesore i couldnt stand for all the work we are putting in so i drilled them out and re riveted the holes. but either way you have to be the one to deal with it. like the guy above said no one will probably notice either way.

I agree with both of the above, either way will be good....the rivet process is easy and so is cutting off the mounting brackets....both options give a nice clean appearance just like the above picture.

Thanks for the response guys.
My boat has 10 rivet per side. that's alot.
I think I will cut the seat out and if I don't like it I can allways drill and rerivet later.
Thanks again for the advise
