Been Lurking for a while now. Picked up a boat yesterday that I owned about 7 years ago. Sold it to a friend of mine and got it back. I am having to go thru it front to back to try and get it going again. Been sitting up a few years now.

It is a 81 Duracraft 14' by 42 ish with a 25 Evinrude that is somewhere about a 79 ish. The ish on the motor is due to the mount had been changed out along time ago from a 35 evinrude and the data plate on it says it is a 79.

One of my daughters and I cleaned it up some yesterday and I noticed a few things. When I had it it had carpet and was about shot. My buddy got most all of it out. The fiberglass under it is coming loose at the edges and has been letting water under it for a while now. I was trying to find out what was under that and a big chunk came off. What did I find but heavy rottem plywood under that. Under that was poured foam up to the ribs.

I was not planning to tear it apart till this winter before trapping season. I guess the front section is gonna get some work now. Here are a few pick of what I am starting with.

I assume that the baot came with the foam and fiber. I got most of the front section out and I think I am gonna end up leaving the foam and cover it with something. Not sure what yet. Open to ideas. No carpet or ply. Has to be able to be washed off after it is covered with mud, fish slime, beaver castor, and coon stuff.

My bride and I ran to the lake for a couple hours this evening and had no more than a cup out the drain plug with it still on the ramp. Not bad for a 30 year old boat!

Cought 46 keepers this morning. I think we are gonna love this simple boat!

Does anyone know where you find the duracraft seat mount plates that hook onto the seat rails?
