It's a neat idea - I could see use for it, but it's pretty heavily invested in the parent company's products with limited expansion.

You need an ethernet capable bird' (so any of the 7-11x8 series, at whatever), the gps capable ($1000)trolling motor, then the i-pilot link for $800, and then the newest version of the Lakemaster mapping card (2013 at $150) which may or may not have your lake.

No beef with Hbird, I love my Minnkota, and I'm bitter that Lakemaster dropped all other support for other GPS units as they were one of the best cards out there for my area.
