New Jon Boat Owner

I am new to boating and Jon Boats, I do know that I want to mod. my new boat. I have a 12ft. Jon the two people that will be using it are large people Im 320 and my buddy is 240 so weight is prolly an issue. But I would like to ask you guys for your advice and inspirations on modding the boat. Anybody that would like to take a little time and draw something up for me would be greatly appreciated. With me not being a seasoned boater I am unsure of myself when it come to the planning part. Now the fabrication is not a problem I can build just not plan. Thank you and have a great day.... are you looking to add a deck? Do you have anything in mind at all? I have a 16' jon and am adding a deck for me (210#) and my uncle will sit in the back (300#) Im leaving the middle open for coolers, gear, and tackle.

If you have the same boat as me...a 1232..then you are at weight capacity with you and your partner..tackle and a motor. If you do any mods you will be decreasing your freeboard considerably. The instability of a 1232 would be markedly increased. My plate on my boats says 400# passengers and gear...but I believe that is the floatation foams rating...up to you...I would take it out with your buddy and throw some extra gear in just to see how scary its gonna be. A 12' is an ideal solo boat though.
