Hello Everyone...

Happy Memorial Day...Have been reading all of your post the past two years and desided that it was time for me to join. I have resently purchased a 1978 Sears 12' Fiberglass Boat. I came across a post in this forum last year from 57 ChrisI thought that this repair/conversion was just what I could handle. I was able to purchase the same boat and now I'm going to need all of your advice on the correct repair and help on the conversion.

I live in the Northeast corner of Massachusetts ( OK...you guys can stop laughing) on the MA/NH line. In this area we have alot of smaller ponds/lakes that are only accessable with roof type boats and also restricted to the use of electric motors. I have used a 1972 12' Sears jon boat (not that good in the wind or waves), a 10' jon and a Bass Hunter type boat (really not good in the wind). Being a man of larger stature 261 lbs I never felt all that secure in some of the conditions mentioned above. I tried to fish a larger pond/lake, staying close to shore (with-in 50 yards)in my Bass Hunter a couple of weeks ago and nearly got swamped by a larger boat that didn't notice the "No Wake Zone" posting. So I was in search for a larger boat that I feel can handle most of the conditions that I like to fish. I will purchase a trailer later this years or next spring but for now I grunt the boat into the back of my Titan... The boat has a broken seat near the transom but I have alot of experience with fiberglass (I used to make custom goalie mask in the 70's). I will try to post some of the pictures I took today...if the link does not work I will keep trying.
Thanks for any help/advice all of you I'm sure will offer me...
