Just acquired a trailorboat speedmaster from a friend for FREE. =D>  Boat has been sitting in the elements for the past two years. Needless to say it needs some TLC. I want to put in a casting deck and storage. Any one have any ideas? The boat has small ribs in it but no channels for drainage. Hull is in good condition and has no leaks. I dupli-colored the inside around all the rivets and ribs with the rubberized undercoating. Should that hold up? Also I want to paint the hull, what is the best way to do this? I am posting a few pics of her.

Can you put up a larger photo?

Oh yeah, where are you located, looks warm 8)

wow ,, work fast!! lol.. can you explain what did you put on the bottom of the boat,, is that black regular house exterior latex paint. or bedliner

actually .. what type of paint can you put on a aluminum boat,, i see people roll paint on here,, but what kind,?? rustoleum???

undercoatings kind of like a rubbery glue mix'd together. you can use just about any paint you want if the surface is prep'd right. i spray can'd my boat in rustolium when i first got it wich held up well besides the scratches from rocks, and since its been spray'd with tractor paint.

glad to see you have a boat like mine, theres not many on here. keep up the good work

I used duplicolor undercoating. Just make sure you clean and prep the surface well. Then give it plenty of tim to cure. I live in Cali and yes is was gorgeous yesterday. Of course it is raining today, hoping to get something done.
If you click on the pictures they will get bigger.

So literally have not worked on the boat in some time. Now I have it back in the garage and am changing a few things. Will upload pics as I go. Has anyone used rustoluem primer and paint on their hull?

I like the approach to seal the boat from the outside to not let water in rather then seal from the inside not to let water in. Fear for me is that water might works it way between inside hull material and bottom side of inside sealant.. This is just MHO. Prep is the key to all paint jobs. Hull paint you can have many options. I have chosen Parkers Duck Boat Paint for mine. On the hull I have applied a coat of Steelflex.

Howard thanks for the info. I have decided to seal the hull as well. Just need to find some steelflex in my area.

Northern Coastal California rarely if ever gets above 80. with the winds and all. Deck isn't big enough for my big a$$ to stand on anyway. Thanks for the input though.

Kinda doing something dufferent for the lower decks. I am going to carpet them in grey. Just wanna get this thing out to fish.
