Hello everyone. I just picked up this boat and trailer. It's a Ouachita 14'. I am guessing its from late 60s to early 70s. I traded a john deere lawn mower for it. It is very solid no dents or patch work.

So I have some questions. The tag says max weight is 425lbs. Is there anyway around this? I found this a YouTube vid where someone added 6" PVC piping to their rig. i am considering it. If i did how much of an improvement would it make?

The trailer is date stamped 10/1971. I installed a new jack, I am going to put on a new winch, tires, lights and axle.

Thanks for any input

How much weight are you planning on putting in? I believe you would really be surprised if evenly distributed how much weight these tins can safely hold.

Weight wise not a lot .. I want to keep it basic but I'm 6'3 290... So not much left for another person, battery, trolling motor, some decking on the floors. I just don't want to be out sitting in the water with the gators
