New Project. But What is It?

Well it looks like I got a new project, my neighbor brought this over to me tonight. He thinks its a 50s johnson but I told him I have never seen any 50s models that look like that.

Anyone have a clue what it is? Or how I can identify it? I didnt see any id plate on it anywhere. I seen a 1941 Champion Outboard on youtube that looks kinda close. I will get some more pics of it in the daylight tomorrow.

No, I am fairly sure it is a 20s to 30s Johnson/Evinrude, probably in the 1 - 3 horsepower range. Go to the Liquid Nirvana webshot page that dedawg posted somewhere, and scroll through those pics. The close resemblance to the firestone is explained because OMC made firestone motors.

Ok few more pics I took the tank off it and also found what may be model/serial # on the side of the midsection under the powerhead. From everything I have looked at it seems to be a 40s model firestone but thats based on the style and the pointy tipped handle. Looks kinda like the 41 champion on youtube but the midsection is different. and it has a rounded end handle.

This is what I think may be the model/serial 463-60599 ?

It sure looks like a mid 40's 3.6 hp Scott Atwater. The throttle slide and pointed tiller handle are Scott Atwater give aways. The tanks styling is another give way. Scott's generally had the serial number following the model number. Does this have a left hand rotation on the prop?

Im still thinking it is a 1946 Scott Atwater 3.6 produced for Firestone (but have yet to confirm)
as the pics show above it is a right hand rotation prop (clockwise)

It may even end up for sale as I have no use for it or a place to display.
