Took the camera to Lake Pee Wee and snapped some pics this afternoon. I won't be launching the boat until Spring probably ,lol:

We motored through skim ice and slush at the ramp on KY Lake this morning on the way out and were greeted with a solid sheet nearly 2" thick when we returned some 5 hours later.

Yea. Blood River on Kentucky lake is the same way. I hope it gets thawed out before the end of February. I got a tournament on there.

Hope it's thawed by then, and you do well in the tourney! Take some pics! 8)

You just run the boat up on it and let the weight break it. We did that for about 2 boatlengths and then I noticed a fissure open up directly inline with the ramp, so we moved over to it and just used the bow to push our way through.

Blood River was only frozen up in Wildcat Creek yesterday. The lake froze over from bank to bank while we watched this morning, including the main channel. We knew that the ramp was going to be locked up tight this morning so we hunted from the shoreline in an area where we could pack everything in from the truck. I never expected to watch the ice run clear across the lake but I wasn't expecting to see the thermometer on the truck hit 0 on the drive up, either.

That happened to a guy I know a few springs ago.. was clear enough when he headed out, then a bunch of ice chunks floated in. Took him until 4 hours after dark with his trolling motor and an oar (for smashing) to get to the dock..
