hmmm.... I'm actually looking at an HDS-7 unit right now just for GPS... but $1000 is hard to cough up, unless I sold my HDS -5x... but I've got a brand new Summit 180ss deer stand that I've only used 2 times that I could make up the difference with.

Brine - I put that new trolling motor transducer on my HD unit... it's amazing the difference between what we were using and what this one shows. I pretty much know when I'm over trees, in rocks or on creek channels now

Ahhhh... my brother was telling me about this a month or so ago. He just bought a HDS7 and HDS10 for his boat and was telling me that soon they were coming out with some 'side-imaging' type add-on that would blow Hummingbird away.

I will have one. I had a HB 798 and it was a good unit but the mounts would not hold up on my boat and I started having problems with the unit. I replaced it with a Lowrance HDS 7 and LLLLLOOOOOOVVVVVVEEEEE it. It's so clear and much easier to read. I can't wait till the structure scan is released cause I do miss the side scanning ability but I know I will see it much better on this screen.
