I "ALMOST" put the bedliner in my 1236 V-hull with bare floor, no decking. . . .
for the very reason you speak of. Waterproofing and non slip.
Personally, I don't know if there are different types of Linex.
ie: gritty/bumpy for non-slip, sealing properties, etc.
This is what steered me AGAINST the coating.
while helping my neighbor remove a washing machine out of his truck,
I had on rubber soled deck shoes that I normally wear all the time and when in the bed of his truck,
I found that oil and water on his lining was VERY VERY SLIPPERY !!!!
That has been my ONLY experience with bedliner thus far, but it was
enough of an experience for me to NEVER put that stuff on a boat.
And yes, this guy is a handyman, so he has all kinds of junk in his truck bed.
spilled paint, oil, sand, dirt, water, etc etc etc. The liner does its intended job
very well in his truck. for me personally, it is not for a boat floor.
but, it is YOUR CALL if you want to do it to your boat or not.
and another question - once it is applied to "anything" how do you get it OFF ???
I think most advertisements say it is impervious to most oils, acids and paint removers.
