I have an opportunity to pick up this motor. It's a 34 lbs. thrust, 12V/24V. The guy is asking $100 but I'm sure I could pick it up for less. What would be a fare price for this thing? Is it even worth picking up? The guy says it runs good, he just replaced it with a newer one. Any input is welcomed. Thanks.

34lbs of thrust isn't very much. I haven't heard of a 24v motor in that range.
if you have $50 to throw away it may be worth a try but I doubt you will be happy with a motor that small

Now don't be so hasty... If it is indeed a 12/24V it might run 34# of thrust in 12V and higher when run 24V. I was looking at one that ran 12/24 and was a 60# using 24V but was only 37# if I recall in 12V. If I were you, I would get the model information and research it. And then make an offer. If it indeed is only 34# don't bother unless you can get if for cheap. If it is one that will run more thrust at 24V you may have found yourself a honey of a deal.

It depends on what size boat you have. My dad has a new MK Edge 40# on his Crappie Deluxe 1648. Its not a powerhouse by any means, but it works well.

Either way, I wouldnt give more than $50 for it.

Ok, I got the model number and the serial number and I did a quick google search without much success. The model is a "Brute 3400" and serial is "48090". I couldn't find out much from my search (except that it's an older model) so I thought I'd turn to almighty, all-knowing tinboat experts here. Once again, any input is welcome. Thanks guys.
