I'm looking at going with one of these two rod holders on the boat. I like the fact that the Rod Saver sits flat on the deck and I'm not tripping over it. The G-Lox looks like it may keep my rods from bouncing all over each other during travel. Please throw in your two cents.

This is really a question of where you are mounting your rods. If on a flat surface then I prefer the rod savers, and if on even a slight angle I would go with the G-lox, I can't see the rod savers keeping the rods seperate on any angle.

They'll be on a flat surface, you think they'd work while in tow? Thinking I could somewhat modify the Rod Savers with a foam noodle for transport.

I think they would be fine in tow. I like the noodle idea.... gets me thinking about my project.

My Triton has a built in rod locker but when I am spider rigging for crappie, I use 12' rods.

I simply lay those rods from the front deck to the back deck on top of the rod locker and run a single bungee cord over them on the reel end to hold them down. I trailer that way up to 30 miles one way. The rods don't move... and this is just with a single bungee and extra long rods.

I was just shoping for these last night and wound up getting the g-lox only because I am mounting the holder vertically, the rod saver does have a foam insert that the rods set in or at least the version I saw last night did, but the strap and the way that it works did not suite my purpose of a vertical mount
