I fish slow. I row. No motor on my boat. I've never ever had a problem getting those Oars started after they sat all winter in the barn! :LOL2:
You just cant say enough about being out on the quiet lake at night. Alone, peaceful. Even if I don't catch fish, its a good trip. :)
I recently made a rolling seat that allows me to roll from front to back of the boat, and row from several places.
I just tried out my latest version and found my engineering and planning to be in need of some adult supervision.
The Seat's way too low. I cant get up or down, cause my knees hurt too much, and I have to keep my hands above my shoulders to keep the oars in the water.

My last effort will raise the seat so I can row better and don't need help getting up and down.
Here's the end look.Front.jpg

This is a ground floor look at the little carriage I made. It's a set of wheels from a $1. "In-line Skate" from the 2nd chance store. The wheels are rolling inside some old RV Trailer Awning channels. The Awning was a Hurricane Casualty.

Then I bought a $60 Gucci leather purse for $3 at the 2nd chance store. Tore out the leather sides and made Oarlock socks for my new oar lock rings.Guchi Oar sock..jpg
Here it is on the boat. The little guy helps me Row.

Oh yes. They don't flex a bit. There's some PVC pipes, cut to fit, right under the channels in three places that support the weight on the ribs too. There's two sealed roller bearings in each wheel.
Smooth and quiet.
IT sure makes reaching stuff easy. There's still room for another guy to fish off that rear seat too.
