First real post here, and I have a project that I need help with. I'm not too familiar with safe electrical practice, nor what best practice is, so I'm looking for a little help.

I have the basic design for the livewell done, and I know where I want everything to do, but I need help with the wiring. Currently I fish from a canoe while I make space to put the 12' so I can work on that. I have a trolling motor on the canoe direct from the battery. What I'd like is to wire to a waterproof box with a couple plus in it. One for the TM, and the other for the livewell. I'm thiking something similar to https://www.tinboats.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&p=237294, but I don't need anything that big just yet. I only need one switch for the livewell. Any thoughts or suggestions?

I like the idea of the battery box with the built in cig plug.

Well, I do have a battery box, and I suppose I could attempt to wire a cigarette plug. Is it possible to also wire the TM to a pronged plug? I just don't know enough to feel comfortable winging it.

If you're hesitant to do it, I'd spring for the one in the pic. I like the cig adapter cuz it will also charge the phone and the whole thing is easily removed as one unit. You dont want to use a cig adapter fot the trolling motor.

Ok, how awful is this? I left out a switch that I plan to use for one of the outlets, but that should be easy enough to wire in. Also, only the livewell outlet is a cig. the other would be a pronged outlet.

Can I make my own power posts with a couple bolts through plexi or ply and silicone sealant?
