Hello everyone, I am new to this and I have been searching quite a while with no results. I have a 12 foot Blue Fin V bottom that I want to put a floor in. My plan is to remove the middle seat and just put a floor there so it is easier to fish from. I know that I can't put a casting deck on it as it will change the center of gravity and make it too unstable. I plan on using 1"x 1" wood for the floor frame. My question to you all is how to anchor it to the boat? What have people done? I have looked at and read a lot of posts but this part is not clear to me. Any help or advice is appreciated. The boat does not leak now and I certainly do not want to make it leak by doing something incorrect.

Pics of your boat would be helpful. Some people screw into the ribs if they’re big enough. I like my floors removable and just set them in. I have also seen slide bolt latches used to anchor floor boards to the seats.

I used aluminum angle and drilled through it into the ribs and secured it with pop rivets. Quick to do and light.

If your remaining bench seats go all the way to the floor (like on a Lund boat), then you can screw your frames into the sides of those. Thats what I did for my casting deck, no different than the floor.
