I hate sitting in my flat bottom or V-bottom boats with my knees higher than my belt. So,
I bought a step stool, put holes in the bases of each leg,
drilled 4 holes in the aluminum boat seat using the stool holes as guides
and when needed, push the screws into each hole so the seat stays put.
4 holes are drilled into the seat to store the screws when not in use.
No nuts are needed because the 2.5" screws won't come out that keep the seat in place.
At the end of the outing, I remove the seat and store it in the truck cab or rear bed. I have two seats for the 12' Jon when
fishing with a partner. It makes using the trolling motor handle easier especially when it has to be turned far right or left.
