Hello, does anyone know of a source for these, they seem to be discontinued bt OMC.

I have a 68 Evinrude 18 hp carcass. May be the same part. If you want to do the legwork it's yours. You pay postage and you can have it. I will have a look tomorrow and see if it resembles my 1976 Johnson 15hp.

First one is my 15hp Johnson 1976, Second one is the 68 Evinrude 18hp. They look very similar. Do you know what year yours is? I have a buddy with an 88 Evinrude 15hp I can look at.

Thats funny..I started to gave a long winded reply about using bicycle handlebar tape and other ideas before I realized what part 23 was.

LOL I'm just trying to get rid of some of the busted old crap in my garage! I cannibalised that motor for it's drive shaft.
