Well that was the plan from Friday to Thursday for my wife and I but we came up a little short. I don't know if many of you have been out for spoonbill but its called snagging you buy these huge hooks about 8/0 to 12/0 and 1/2 pound weights and drag them along the river channel to "snag" the fish. Well 50 bucks worth of hooks and weights and 70 bucks worth of gas no fish. Next on to opening day of turkey season 7 hours of calling hiding in a camo tent with no ventilation not to hear even one gobble. We did see a nice looking coyote but we cant shoot them during turkey season. So now the crappie fishing after three days of no fish turkey or mushrooms I was wanting to catch something so we went up to the dam here and finally got into so good fish. My wife caught 4 or 5 over 12 inches and I got a bunch of nice white bass all on smaller tube jigs and grubs. Also if you don't know what i mean by mushrooms here in the mid west we have morel mushrooms that grow in the wild about this time of year so as I'm out turkey hunting I'm looking for mushrooms. I didn't find any until I was putting my boat on the trailer and looked over and their were 9 of the little fellows growing next to the boat ramp. I have them in the fridge almost ready to eat. All in all it was a fun weekend out side of the city. Ill have some pictures when I get them off my camera.
