suzuki DT8 rectifier

hi i have a 1987 suzuki DT8 that has a charging coil with red, red/yellow and yellow wires under the flywheel but no rectifier. i have ordered a rectifier which has red, white, yellow and black wires. i found a wiring diagram for the motor online and it shows the yellow wire of the rectifier connects to the yellow, the red rectifier wire to the yellow/red of the coil and the white of the rectifier to the battery but nothing to the red coil wire. is this correct? thanks

I don't know much about this engine, but I would connect per the schematic.

Thanks for the info, i bought an aftermarket rectifier that was supposed to be plug and play. It has yellow, red , black and white wires. It didn’t work work when I hooked it up according to the suzuki diagram, I checked it with my meter and it turned out the red is the output and the yellow and white go to the coil. It works great now, puts out about 14 volts at 1/2 throttle.
