We're repowering our big boat and what are your opinions on Suzuki's. We were offered a deal that is hard to pass up. Twin 300hp's, 4-strokes, 08' models, 135hrs, and 5 years warranty left. We can get both for the price of one 4-stroke Yamaha. I rarely see them in use and do not know anyone with one.

Depends where you measure. At waterline over 27'. overall length 32'.

We currently have twin 250's 2-stroke Mercs. We're trying to get a better cruise range. We average around 1.2 MPG and we need to get it too 2.5 plus.

While the Yammy 4 strokes still have a majority on the East Coast, the Suzi's are catching up. Especially after Yammy had some "issues" with 6 cylinder 4 strokes a couple years back. I looked long and hard at them when deciding on the power for the 20 footer I will be building (maybe bigger, I keep wanting to add a few inches here, and a few there), and while the Etec won out, it wasn't by a large majority. The Suzuki did look real good from the 4 stroke standpoint.

WE bit the bullet and bought them. Twin 300 HP Suzuki's '08 models 5 year warranty. 600 HP BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was pretty cool, the motors were on stands and we wanted to see them run. They hooked up a laptop and a wiring harness with batteries to the motor. He hit the start icon on the laptop and each fired up. It also did a full diagnostic while they were running. They are shipping them next week to us.

We left Picayune,MS Wendsday at 9:00 PM drove all night and arrived in West Palm Beach,Fl at 8:00 AM. We stayed for 3 hours and returned home. That was a long long long long trip.

600hp on a 30'(ish)boat.
When you need(want)it,your going to fly, hope you get the fuel comsumption your looking for.
Hope you have years of fun with all them ponies.

I never had big Suzuki's but the little ones have run like tops one 86 8hp and still running as my kicker and 96 15hp that is waiting for me to buy a small boat for it.

The 300's are awesome motors , hope those run well for you . You should be able to cruz at a lower RPM than the other motors and save son fuel.
I bet one motor will plane your boat .

Bassboy , the only Thing I remember about the Yamaha's was the HPDI's , those are 2 strokes .

thats a good lookin boat

we went and camped on an island all weekend raising cane on my buddys 21' pro liner with 225 4stroke suzuki. it was one of the early fuel injection models but it ran perfect the hole time

Those are some good motors too. Excellent high performance outboards. Their 6 cyl. 4 strokes (F series) had a few minor issues. Well, if shooting a hole in the side of the block is minor. A lot of guys started switching to Suzukis as that issue gained popularity. Seeing as my 20 footer would need 4 stroke features, if the Etec didn't exist, Suzuki would be looking very promising for that rig.
