Tiller handler installation Instructions.

Anybody knows how hard it is to install a tiller handle on the new 60/40HP mercury jet outboard. I got a price quote of $825 plus $400 install fee. The installation fee sounds a little steep in my opinion.

You have to connect shift and throttle linkage, along with ignition. Sounds reasonable to me.

Scootzu. I have a soft copy of the installation manual. PM me your email address and I will send it to you. The offer from rockdamage sounds pretty good if he is close to you. Mercury does not officially support this install on a jet. You have to make sure you order the proper cables or it will not work. In my opinion some cable setup's are better than others. Mine has a cable similar to a new Yamaha that has zero play and is very crisp. Some use the factory shift linkage to hook up the shift cable to the jet foot if not done right it seems to make the shifter kinda sloppy to me.
