Ok, I be the Dummy lmao.

I installed my Minn Kota PowerDrive 24V TM today along with my 3 bank Promariner Charger. Motor is mounted up and all 3 batteries are hooked up to individual banks and charging as I type.

That being said, what is the BEST/SAFEST way to wire my 2 deep cycle batteries so I get a total of 24V. Batteries are all in the rear compartment, TM is bow mounted and wiring from the front plug is run through the conduit channel to the stern in the battery compartment and I've got a POS/NEG lead from the TM plug.

I'm thinking the way is: Run a jumper cable from the POS side of battery 1 to the negative side of battery 2 and then connect the remaining POS/NEG leads from the TM plug to the POS/NEG terminals that are open on battery 1 and 2.

The charger if I'm not mistaken should remain with a bank hooked up to each individual battery.

Correct or am I a REAL DUMMY lol ?

Thanks

google the 12 volt side of life parts 1 and 2 . it tells you everything you ever wanted to know about wiring batteries, what equipment draws, what guage wires to use/how long etc. its very informative.

Here's batteries in series for 24V:

And, assuming your bank charger actually functions as independent chargers, I believe you can connect the chargers the usual way (+ to +, - to -) on both batteries, BUT you should check the charger's manufacturer's instructions to be sure. I'd also use 6AWG wire.

no need to google you can use the search feature here on the site this topic has been covered many times
but you are correct leave the charger hooked up to both batteries and run the jumper from pos+ of battery a to the neg- of battery B that will give you 24 volts heading to your plugs up front

your pro marine 3 bank charger is a very good charger, you will love it, and it will have 7 wires comming out of it, 6 to the bateries- 3 positives and 3 negatives and of corse the 110 volt power cord, wire the small positive and negative ends to each batery itself and that charger sences what batery needs more amps than another and will slow down the amps as it nears a full charge then gos into a "float" mode... anytime that boat aint in the water or going down the road have it pluged in even ALLLL winter long
