Hey guys I'm new to the site, but have been reading on here for a couple years now. I'm about to buy a Tracker Topper 1542 and I want to deck the front of it. I'm looking for any opinions on the stability of the platform from those of you who have done this to a boat this model. Any input would be greatly appreciated. If you guys think it won't be sturdy enough I may look into a bigger boat. I'm using it primarily for fishing, but it will also be used for duck hunting. Thanks!

i put a huge deck on my 1436, & it's plenty stable. you'll be even more stable in the 1542, as with any deck, lower is better when it comes to tippiness, so i'd try to keep the deck @ bench height, rather than building the deck higher than the benches. the more weight you add to the deck also affects tippiness (center of gravity), so if you made a drop in deck out of 2x4s that sits ON TOP of the benches, that will be more tippy than a deck made of aluminum @ bench height. the aluminum, bench height deck will be more work & more money though.

you can see my build by clicking the link below in my signature, a 1542 is perfect for duck hunting, i like a smaller boat because it's easier to hide

I have the same boat and I put a big deck in the front. Level the deck with the bench seats and you will be fine.
