Decided that with the carpet getting torn up on my bunks it was time to do something. I ordered the bunk glide ones from Eastern Marine. I am thinking of only doing the back half and leaving the front half carpeted so the boat will "grip" the trailer a little when I go to recover the boat. Plus I think I can do it with the boat on the trailer if I just raise the back of the boat. I an planning on shaping the board to match the contour of the glide as I don't care for it being unsupported, hanging off the back where the boat will inpact on it.

That should get that 190 on & off the trailer easier! :) . Do the screws/mounting hardware attach through the sides of the glides into the bunks?

Yeah, the screw go through the sides. Have to remove the carpet first so I'll jack the boat up, remove about a foot of carpet, shape the end to match the glide piece, fit it and cut the rest of the carpet so it butts up to the glide. Prolly gonna need to staple the carpet where I cut it. Where can I find S/S staples for a staple gun or do people use the kind ya gotta hammer in?

I looked on-line and only found a couple od staple places that carry 'em for pnuematic nail/staple guns. You might try a boat repair or upholstery shop if one is nearby. I don't know if Lowe's or a Home Depot type store would carry something like that. BPS maybe?

Maybe you can use galvinized staples, they use them to build lobster traps,if they can last there should last on your boat.Don't know how small you can get them though.
