Hey guys! I have a problem with my trolling motor...today i was on the water and i was cutting across past a cove and i put it on #5 to go faster and it wont switch out of #5 no matter what # its on! Think maybe i need to use some contact cleaner on the switch but its one that spins to select the speed but i dont know?? Its an older motorguide i think a "three x" any help would be appreciated!

I don't remember the MG models, but some used FETs in the motor housing. When they blew, it was max speed only. Hopefully, it is just a stuck contact in the head unit.

that will be my best guess too. It will cost around $200 to convert to a 5 speed
