Trolling motor mount

I am wanting to add a mount for a trolling motor. I don't want a foot controlled motor, at least not yet so I need something that can attach to my bow plate for a transom mount.

I am wondering if anyone has ever tried this one from basspro.

I think it would do what I need it to, but it looks kind of flimsy. Any suggestions?

Dude, just order some 1/4" alum angle in whatever size you need online (metals depot). I ordered a 7" piece of 5*3*1/4 inch for $22 including shipping. Should be a pic in the lowe link in my sig.

For now, it's because I am getting a transom mount for free.
