I used these guys this week and they are great. I was looking for some motor brushes for my troller. They asked me what was wrong with the motor, agreed on brushes, and offered good/useful advice on how to make the troller work better (I had already done some of it and agree, it works at least 50% better). They then sold me the parts for 20-25% less than other online retailers and overnighted it to me for only $10 (I'm in the same state).

Gotta like good service!

Good to hear.

We could use a TM parts sponsor!

Just had to use these guys again. Glad I posted it on tinboats cause I forgot their name! Still great prices.

Thanks for the link. I used them the other day for some parts. They even sent detailed instructions with photos on how to fix my trolling motor. I highly recommend them also.

One question for you though. What all did you do to make your trolling motor run better? Any little tricks you would care to share?

Sure, I put a post on here about it, had to look for awhile. Basically it is removing burrs and making moving parts smooth as silk. I've been reworking my gun triggers, mostly just a nice polish. I can reduce my trigger pull from 6.5 to 3.5 with a nice mirror polish. I figure the same would be true for moving parts on the troller. A few google searches combined with what these guys said and this is what I did... I polished any moving part that contacted another part. It doesn't take long. With most motors, if you have less resistance, it will pull less amps and keep me on the water longer. The quiet factor is worth the effort itself, especially if you have the motor apart anyway.

BTW, the partS (3 parts) I ordered on the 5th via the online order form - they arrived at my house on the 6th, and I just used the standard $10 fedex shipping cost. Now I'm in the same state about an 5.5 hour drive away, but you can't beat that unless you drive there yourself!

I replaced the bottom of the control head because the plastic posts that hold the cables in place broke.
In my rush I forgot to order a replacement speed control knob. I'll check out the link you posted on the custom work and look my motor over and order any other parts I need all together at once. I have a couple of guns I've stoned and polished so I allready have the stuff I need. It just takes a little time but I'm sure the effort is well worth it. Thanks again. =D>
