Hey guy's,
I'm looking for some advice on trolling motor size. I am just finishing a 14 ft Monarch flat bottom and will next need to equip it with a electric motor ( main power 15hp Johnson). I am not sure that I want a bow mount so I am focused on a transom mount for now. I will mostly use this boat on a river that has a normal current of 1 to 2 miles per hour. Will a 12 volt 30 or 40 lb unit be enough to position this boat on upstream movement? I don't expect to motor troll with it just positioning over structure.
