I’m looking to purchase a used Jon Boat in nice condition. 16’ minimum. Anyone know a good resource or listing?

Watch the classified listing forum here on TinBoats. Craigslist. Amazon Marketplace.

Who knows. Posting here might catch someone's attention who wants to sell.

I've been buying peer to peer through Facebook Marketplace. It's really the only good use for the platform. Much better than Craigslist because there are less scams to weed through. Facebook al least offers some accountability.

Here are a few within 60 miles of you:

I have one like this, with a side console, and it's an awesome 18' aluminum boat:

But seriously, if you boat out around the island, you might want something closer to this, for seaworthiness and safety:

There are tons and tons in your area. Just look in Marketplace.

I hope this helps

When looking for something specific, it takes a bunch of searching and some may be farther out than you expect. When I bought my boat last year, I was looking for a specific 16' V hull aluminum that was in execptional condition. I spent hours each day scouring everything and even had my grandkids searching there web sites for what I wanted. Did this for a little over 3 months...yep 7 days a week, looking for that new post, otherwise it would be gone!! Finally hit on one, 40 minutes after it was first posted, owner sent me numerous pics and gave me the history. Within an hour, cash in hand, I drove 200 miles to look at it !! Three other people were waiting, but the owner knew I was on my way and held it until I had first look. Not easy to find and tou need to be ready now! If they have been advertised for a while....probably one no one wants.

Here in Oklahoma I have just been shocked at what i see for sale. The famous last words on outboards is "It ran good last year" One ad had a picture of a 14 footer with weeds growing in it. Ad read no leaks last time in the water.

Oh my God, those bring back funny memories of my last boat shopping adventure !! How true they are!! People seem to have lost respect for there boats and motors, they don't take any care, yet when they decide to sell them, they are worth gold....better yet, they treat there boats like trash then bad mouth the mfgrs claiming there stuff is junk and doesn't last !! Just watch some of those videos on yourube where people launch and retrieve there boats with no clue as to what they are doing....great entertainment !!

Seen that one a lot. I check the ads every other day looking for a small 2 stroke outboard.

Same sort of thing for me, including the 200 mile drive. But the boat was 16' with a new looking 25hp engine. Older gentleman and his partner used it in another state, but it sat stored most of the time. Looks very nice and after having the engine completely serviced just for my own ease of mind, it runs great and just what I wanted!

And it’s amazing that every outboard has low hours.
