i purchaced a 12 foot flat bottom shallow jon boat that came with an older style foot control motor, around 15 lb thrust i think. but i figured i would need to have more power to get me around, what size transom motor would i need?

Are you asking for recommendations on an electric trolling motor or gas? Looking in the Minn Kota book for transom mounts is easy for you to do if that is what you are asking. I see around 30# minimum there. You would also need nothing more than a 36" motor. Anything in a 15" engine up to around 10hp for gas. Measure your transom first before selecting an engine.
i would love to get a gas motor but my budget probably is only going to allow for an electric, the lakes around here are around 700 acres, so ill have to pick and choose where i put in at. should i run wire to both motors or drag the battery to the front when i use my foot control tm?
