For the last 8 years I have been a tower tech. building and servicing all types of towers. Cell phone, tv, radio, broadband, and so on. Thought I would share what the view is like.

do them things lean when your up there and the wind starts blowin?

only sway around bout 8 feet in all directions....we are pretty strict about wind conditions for the days we have to climb. As far as bad weather you tend to see it coming bout 25 miles before it gets to ya!!

good pics. but when i was young no problem...........
not young no more so you can have at it.
NO WAY i would do that now!!!!!!!!!!

Not No.................. HAYULL NO.

Funny thing is I have no problem jumping from a plane at 14,000 feet, but I don't want anything to do with that view.

Haha, no joke. I like roller coasters and things, but that's nuts.

Whew... I'm with everyone else on this one. That's crazy man. How long does it take to climb up there? Ever get to the top and remember that you left something important in the truck?

:LOL2: Well I used to be able to climb a 1,000 footer in around a hour. Yeah I've left stuff on the ground a time or two, and if its the first time up without any rigging, it sucks cuz you gotta go all the way back down. Like I once needed to do a lighting upgrade and change out one of the ceramics inside of the strobe and forgot to bring up an extra bulb... and wouldn't you know it I broke the existing bulb.. #-o needless to say, it was a long day followed by a sore next morning.

Sure, I'd do it... If...

There was an automatic method to get me up there (no climbing), I didn't have to look down, and... the top of the tower was no more than 25 feet off the ground. other than that, thanks for your service, but I ain't havin' any of it.

Not a chance in hell would I even consider doing it. I'll give up my phone first....which would be pretty easy in the first place. I hate carrying a phone around. Guess I'm just old school.
