Where do you mount your fish finder/transducer?

I am shopping around for a quality fish finder and have been wondering where is the best place to mount the finder and transducer. Initially I was thinking I would put the finder on the bow and mount the transducer to my trolling motor. However, I have been thinking I might be better off mounting the finder at the rear (with transducer mounted on the stern) so I can see it while operatong the outboard and scanning the bottom for structure. Of course it would be nice to have both, but that is not in the cards just yet.

What is your preference?

I mounted mine on a seperate plate that I can remove. The plate bolts to the top of my transom so there's no holes below the water line.I have the graph mounted so I can see it while operating the motor.

I got a ram mount and mounted it in the middle of the boat so that I can see it from teh front seat and the rear seat. I mounted the transducer on the transom so I can use it while crusing which I do more than using the front trolling motor.

I mounted my transducer to the transom, and the finder near the middle of the boat. I can spin it 180 to see from teh front. One day I want to buy an better unit and mount it int eh back and move the current unit to the bow. Currently my trolling motor is also on the transom. One day I want a bow mounted one too.

I've got one mounted on the transom also with the finder at the rear. I'm thought about moving it up front, but am also not sure where the best placement would be.

I used a Ram mount to put mine on the right rear corner of the middle seat. It's right in front of me while driving the boat and when I'm fishing from the bow I simply spin it facing so that it's facing toward the rear of the boat.
