Guys I have a 2002, 1710 Fisher boat. This is their "crappie" model. Anyway, I am about to buy a Humminbird 767 with gps and am wondering where I can mount the gps antenna???? I'm sure I need to post some pics of my boat. But what are the suggested locations to put these from the factory???? Is somewhere on the console ideal??? Thanks, Scott Woody

I have done GPS on aircraft more than boats.I have only done one boat.It experienced interference. So we bought a fishing rod holder, the kind that mounts in the gunnel and looks like a cup holder with a smaller hole. Then we mounted the antenna on the end of a piece of 6 foot 1.5 inch(iirc) PVC pipe, and stuck it in the rod holder. Then ran the cable under the deck and up through the console. We mounted it in the front because there was no electrical parts up there. You could prolly do a 3 foot staff instead of six. This is just one way and it's been a while(7 years) since I participated in this.Antenna have become much better since then and so have the receivers.
