Looking for one of these light-weight hulls for a custom build. Condition doesn't matter too much, just so long as it hasn't been in any collisions (ie no deformations, dents, creases etc.) I've got a trolling motor and trailer so those items aren't at issue, I don't care if it has a gas motor or not - I can fix it or replace it as needed - so I'm really just looking for a hull for a project.
I'm really looking for something I can put some time into without a lot of startup cost. A boat that turned out to have too many leaky rivets for someone else's project would be ideal. I'm going to install an all aluminum transom, so transom condition is irrelevant.
As far as location I'm in CT, so either I have to be able to pick it up or make arrangements to meet halfway. Either way, I'd like to have enough pictures so that we can have all the price details worked out ahead of time so there isn't any last minute haggling.
I'm not hell bent on this model. Basically anything 17' long and aluminum that NADA shows to have a hull weight of approximately 600lbs will suffice. The final build needs to be in the neighborhood of 700~800lbs including the TM and batteries so that the boat weight with the motor and trailer is ~1400lbs and safe to tow with a Subaru. I hope to save some weight by replacing decking that was originally plywood with aluminum sheet, which will likely offset any additional weight I add from extra storage & hardware.
