Wow that is a really cool looking heron, I definately have never seen one around me. Those pictures are really good as well. How close were you to it? You must have been pretty sneaky or you have a really nice camera.

Well little of both. I was about 20-30 feet from him. Usually they are shy Birds but he let me get pretty close to him. As for my Camera setup I got about $2000 in the Camera body and lens. Nikon D300 and the 70-300mm VR lens. I crop the Picture a little bit.

Very nice shots, Mark! You need to get over to Photzo.com, join, and start posting your pics. Each member gets 10mb of space for their own gallery shots (I've already used mine :roll: ).

Yeah I'll stop by and Join. Did you ever get over to Planet Nikon? I would join if I were you I learned a lot of stuff form the guys at the Planet. A lot of great guys over there that are willing to help you out. There are a few Pro Photographer over there. These guys Know a lot of stuff.
