First off, I stumbled on to this forum! Its got a lot of good stuff on it. I wish I would have been here when i rebuilt my 89 bass Tracker!
Anyway, I am kicking around the idea of building a Jet Jon. Mainly just for skinny river fishing. I have a 14' alumicraft jon. Its in good shape. I also have an old SeaDoo GTS. Its a 1992 model, 580cc 55hp motor. Question is, is it big enough? Not trying to win any races, but obviously get up on plane for shallow water running. I have seen the "Spoon" for relieving cavitation. I have been doing some research, but have not seen a jet jon that has this motor? Or, its not called out anyway. I am handy with a Tig, and I have machining equipment, if I where to need to fab any of my own parts. I am sure I will. Any advice or pointers would be appreciated.
