    6hp to small?

Well I made the trade....I got a 6hp eveinrude, gas tank, and $50.00 for my chainsaw! Motor runs good, we fired it up in his driveway and he pulled the cord out. He felt bad enough he gave me 50.00 to have it fixed... Now to find a trolling motor.

    6hp to small?

For mostly small lakes and my annual trip to reelfoot, 10 mph would be fine, I think. I'm trying really hard not to put any extra cash in this at all...so far, I've got the boat and trailer for a trade of a trailer that came with the property I bought, the plywood for the decking from helping...

    Trolling motor repair?

Newbie question....can you rebuild a trolling motor and is it worth it? Got a free trolling motor that "worked"...but, just not for me. Its an older minnkota, 28# thrust I think...but I get nothing. Trying to build a boat with no cash out of my pocket, free boat and trailer, I'm trading an...

    6hp to small?

Backstory... I got a Lowe 1436 about 8 months ago, that needed some work. Personal/family issues set the boat aside for awhile, but I have pulled the project out again... The goal is to get the boat on the water with little to no cash out of pocket, I can trade for parts/pieces needed, or...

    Best way to patch this?

What's the best way to patch this? It doesn't need to be like new, just smooth enough to paint and water-tight... Sorry, I didn't think about taking one from inside the boat, but it is right next to a gusset if that matters...you can see the rivet on the edge of the hole got a little dinged.

    Dont make cents, either...

I must not be using that calculator correctly... With 900lbs weight (Max weight of boat 640 lbs +weight of boat itself ~200lbs + 60lbs to make it a nice round number) Horsepower of 5 (6.5hp - 20% of parasitic loss) Correction of 300 (I don't know why...that's its default) =Speed of 17mph?

    Dont make cents, either...

No watersking huh? Oh well.... I know this is a newbie question....but I havn't ever used rivets before...what size and what is involved? I'm new to a tinboat, fiberglass and wood I can do..
