If you are in an area that has Coast Guard or uses CG regulations be they are CG approved and mounted where they say to mount them, they have safety reasons for all their regulations and a lot of research to find whats best.
Really nice build!! Should give you a lot of enjoyment!!

I did a 16 foot tracker's tm wire, I used #6 welding cable front to rear. It's pricey but it's flexible which makes it easier to run and the insulation allows it to be wet and is thick enough to protect the wire from anything you'll do to it. I would also use the heaviest connectors I can find...
Treated today is done with a copper solution, copper and aluminum do funny things together, none of them nice. It's possible to ruin the hull in a year.

If you're still working on it Bass Pro Shops sell a jackplate for small boats and motors that should work very well and look good. Interesting build.

I have a 95 Pro 16 Deep V with an 09 Merc 50 2stroke, 31/32 wot GPS. I believe it's heavier than yours. Very, very nice build!

Sorry, I didn't see your last post before I did mine. I prefer 2 strokes, I'm old and pretty set in my ways, 2 strokes are simpler with fewer parts and I like...
Is this all you're running? No trolling motor? How long are you planning spending on each trip? I probably would go with a 27 series deep cycle battery, remember to charge it after every use.
