1976 18x48 Ouachita Jon conversion, Pictures are back!

Your welding has come a long ways since that first bead. That boat is looking good! How hard was it to modify the clarke to weld aluminum? Did you have to put new rollers in?

    Wood for bunk boards

Just replaced mine this winter. I made the bunk board and then took the whole deal down to the local river(more creekish) and launched the boat. Put the new boards on there in the parking lot. However, I was told that you are not supposed to do that. I used pressure treated lumber. I had to...

    College vs. Tech School (long)

I am a member of many different forums and on those forums there are lots of young kids just like you that are always confused about what they want. I am a high school teacher and I am currently teaching 9th graders and some 10th graders. I am of the opinion that you don't really know what you...

    What will blow up?

Ok, I don't want to have 3 topics on the front page so I am just going to bump this one. There are probably going to be alot of questions in here. I was thinking about running one battery as just my starting battery, then another for just my electronics, then another for the trolling motor...

Don't want to drill a hole in your boat???

basically it is just a bracket for a bilge on the back of the boat. so the hose and the water will have to come over the side of the boat.

Lowrance X96 or Eagle Fishmark 480

I went with the lowrance, I hope that it does a good job for me. I also bought a 3 year extended warranty on it so I feel pretty good about it. https://www.gpsandmarineworld.com never heard of them but it was 10 bucks cheaper and they offered the warranty so we'll see.

    Livewell questions

Well my flow-rite valve was toast. So what I have done it just made it a aerator pump holder. The cable that ran from the helm to the bilge was toast and the valve it self was full of crud. So no it is just open. Like a 30 dollar T-connector. I am just going to put a plug in my live well and...

    Trailer Tire Protectant

I use high endurance gloss on my car tires. I hadn't thought about it for the trailer tires. Something i found makes it go on nice and smooth is a paint brush, easy to apply and get it even with out getting it on my rims. all meguiars stuff smells pretty darn good. Not much touches my car...

Lowrance X96 or Eagle Fishmark 480

I'm looking at these two right now. they are both under my 200.00 price limit at 199.99. The 480 has a bigger screen than the lowrance. Just wondering which you would choose? thanks nick

    Livewell questions

I'd like something that is going to last me a while. If I have a through hull pump does it also need a...

    Mercury outboard question

I can't really tell by the pictures but it looks right to me. you should push the line on and twist it a 1/4 turn. squeeze the fuel bulb and see what happens. if fuel goes everywhere then i would replace it. Doesn't look broke, from what I can tell.

    What will blow up?

I have a 2000 60hp The main reason for doing this is to charge the trolling motor batteries when they run down during the season. But right now i would like to maintain all three batteries so when the season does come they are all ready. but it looks like this little project has taken a back...

    What will blow up?

Well two are for my trolling motor and one is the starting battery. I was thinking that if i made this permanent i would want to charge my starting battery during the winter(charger is also a maintainer) the two trolling motor batteries work independent of each other i'm just going to keep them...

    Mercury outboard question

What I would do is go with an aftermarket quick disconnect. You could always just plumb it so that it is not quick disconnect but that would be aggravating. Most marine places sell both sides of the quick connect so you should be good to go. I can't look a photobucket at work, but you should be...
