    Hello falks,

Welcome! Every year I take a trip to Canada and one of the species I target is pike. I also like to fish for walleye, a fish that is closely related to zander.

Adding seat mount to alumacraft Jon

I'm a big fan of tee nuts and use them for a number of different things on my 14' Lund, including securing seat bases to the plywood bench tops, and the mounting plate for my trolling motor. If you ever need to remove a seat for repair or just to open up some space for a while, those tee nuts...

    Censorship

I agree. The post that spawned this thread was political in nature. I have avoided jumping into this discussion, or any of the other threads claiming censorship. This is the only time I will "contribute" for this thread. I do engage in political discussions on another non-boat-related forum...

    Bow Mounted trolling motor

No. They don't have power running to them. And, as you probably noted, the TM mounting scheme blocks the starboard side lights from being seen. I'm in no hurry to make the nav lights functional as I don't fish at night. But I have given it some thought. If I decide to have operational nav...

    Bow Mounted trolling motor

I have pics of what I did for my Lund S14 in my build thread. Here's a screen shot:

    Must be nuts

    I think there's a 12-step program for you.

    Can't Get Out!

I was hoping to go out one more time with the boat. However, winds gusting up to 40 mph canned that idea. November's schedule is just too full for more boat days. I'll winterize the boat tomorrow. Time to start thinking of my upgrades for the 2025 season, if any. I'll take the...

    Odd tools.

I've had a SawStop table saw since 2012. I originally bought it for the safety feature, but it's a top-notch saw. Great fit and finish, superb accuracy, and easy to get repeatable successful results. SawStop has captured a significant share of the table saw market.

    Greetings from NE British Columbia

Welcome! Please share those pics when available! I've been through Dawson Creek several times, driving the Alaska Highway. Most recent trip was last September when my wife and I made a 4-week tour of Alaska.

    Odd tools.

There are lots of "odd" tools; specialty tools in various disciplines. When I first read the thread, I had a hard time thinking of any "odd" tools I have in my woodworking shop and the modest collection of hand tools I have that I use for general "mechanicing." As for the granite table saw...

    Trailer width question

I wish my 14 foot Lund sat lower on its trailer. I think launch and recovery would be much easier.

Social Security Cost of Living Increase!?

True. When I receive e-mails from any place (Soc Security, VA, banks) I NEVER use any included links in the e-mails to go see what the e-mail is notifying me about. I always open a new tab and log in with however I have that account set up.

    What a day... (Long Rant)

I don't have a toothed bar, but want to get one. My buddy has one on his small JD and swears by it. A friend of his fab'd it up; I'm sure the guy will do one for me as well...for a price, of course.

    What a day... (Long Rant)

Sometimes Iowa DOT runs a similar machine along the highway to bust drifts. The snow we got the first week of January 2024 closed U.S. 6 in front of our house for more than a day. DOT had to send out those beasts to clear the highway. I"m like a little kid when these things come a workin'...I...

    What a day... (Long Rant)

I suppose you could; it would require a fair amount of fabrication and you'd have to solve the issue of nearly all snowblowers being narrower than the wheel track of the ATV. My snowblower weighs nearly 300 pounds. Weight and balance on the ATV would be an issue as well. I kept my snowblower...

    What a day... (Long Rant)

All well and good if I was only dealing with an easy snow. But that hardly ever happens here. What we typically get is a lot of drifting; we live on top of a hill and the snow swirls around the buildings. Once the drifting starts, it's game over for the ATV/blade. And in this part of the...

    What a day... (Long Rant)

I know that I had a Honda for 8 years with a snow blade on the front. It ran well, and the only thing I ever had to fix on it was a broken spark plug. I also know that I sold it as soon as I got a better snow handling machine.

    POST YOUR PIC'S FISHING GALLERY.......

Which lake is that? My daughter, son-in-law, and grandson live in Lincoln, on the southwest side of town. SIL has talked about a lake about "10 minutes" from their house. One other question: How'd you get away with that t-shirt in that part of the country?

    Solid state marine battery

I'm not an "early adopter" on this kind of stuff. Like all other new technologies, I'll let the newness wear off, pros and cons become evident, and the price come down (way down) before I jump in. Besides, maybe my two year old LiFePO4 will need replacing by then. The description on the...

    POST YOUR PIC'S FISHING GALLERY.......

Farm ponds are awesome! These are the ones I decided to keep. For a while this morning, we thought that we wouldn't see any crappies at all. I caught that red-eared sunfish right away, and then things slowed down. (You folks down south might call the red-eared sunfish by the name...
