The end that connects to the motor is different, which you could change.

If it has good compression (130 +) I'd jump on it. Brand new those motors have 140 to 145 compression. :lol:

On around 76 or 77 they had a driver coil under the flywheel.

Some style of springs are called a slipper spring.They use them in big truck apps. Bolt only in 1 end. Other end rides on frame.I have them on my Crawler trailer.

Make sure you service the motor. Impeller, plugs , & lower unit oil for starters. Nice find =D>

Pull receiver out, put a couple tack welds on 2 sides grind till fits & snug.

I have used a hot glue gun to waterproof my connections.

Little frost plug like on right hand side of motor block that has model number stamped on it.

I'd keep the newer Merc which will run circles around the 93 Merc. Compression on the newer Merc should be 145 +

They are 1.5 inch rubber plugs

I have made those mounts out of rubber plugs bought at Lowe's for a couple bucks each. Have done it on a few motors with great success.
