    New guy, first post

Hi and welcome I have a 12/36 flat bottom Jon with a 9.8 4- stroke. I'm 5'5" at 160lb, it's pretty stable with just me. But when I put my 80lb Lab in there with me, I have to watch where he's at when I go to move around. When I catch a fish and he gets excited and comes over to the same...

    Damaged Lowe L1648MT

Nice find, looks fixable. It really doesn't look all that bad. You'll have a lot straighting to do, looks like it got twisted pretty good. A lot of construction companies never registered thier work boats if no motor was used. Might make it easier to title, might not, just a thought.

    Gas tank question

might check out the fuel pump, what kind of motor do ya have? A lot of them are vacuum diaphram. Although it seems it would have trouble pulling the fuel from a full tank as well. I with you on the crack or whole in the pickup tube.

easy way to store jars of pork rinds, scents, dyes, etc

I LIKE IT!!! I don't use scents that much, but what a great idea for all sorts of stuff you want to keep handy. With the ends open it won't hold water ether.

    New fuel tank

That's a vent, it's at the highest point of the tank or the shallowest with the angle of the tank. He put that in because he used a non-vented gas cap. But I could put a piece of copper tubing in there bent to the same angle of the tank to get it all the to the bottom. I will just have to vent...

    New fuel tank

No feelings hurt here. I welcome other peoples input. That's why I'm on this forum. I've got a lot of great ideas from here and even learned what not to do from people posting their mistakes on here too. I did put a quick disconnect on the tank so if the fuel line gets damaged you can...

Any Hammock users?? Camping or otherwise?

I have backpacked a lot, and I used a hammock all thru Central America and the Appalachian Trail. I have even stayed at hammock hotels, you rent one their hammocks, or bring your own. Very comfortable to sleep in. When I younger (and single) had one hanging in living room. I preferred it to the...

CraigsList boat = no title = no numbers = no HIN =

I know what ya mean with ever state beening different. Almost nothing happens in North Carolina with out a notary. And in Georgia you can own a vehicle with out a title if it's so old. And when you buy a jeep with fiberglass tub (body) and the serial numbers are different from the vin numbers on...

CraigsList boat = no title = no numbers = no HIN =

I not sure what the law is..... I went there just to ask questions, ending up walking out with a title to the boat and trailer. I'm a North Carolina resident, but own property in Florida too. They did ask if I owned property in Florida and which state the boat would be in most of the time. Gave...

1236 jon big enough or not

Is it a flat bottom? I've got a 12/36 flat bottom, I'm 160 with a 9.8 hp 4-stoke. It works just fine.....do I wish it was bigger? Yes, but it very easy to manage alone. I even stand up and cast sometimes to stretch my legs, from the bottom not the seat. I mostly fish sitting though, just a lot...

CraigsList boat = no title = no numbers = no HIN =

Pretty scary.....if you think about it. If somebody steals my boat, goes to dmv....says it's an old pre-70's and get a new set of numbers.

CraigsList boat = no title = no numbers = no HIN =

I got my boat in pinellas county fl. It was going to be scrapped because no paper work....went to dmv, the boat had no HIN numbers. They told me that most pre-70's ( jon boat style )most likely didn't have HIN #'s. So they issued me a set of numbers for the boat, and trailer since it was...

    boat seat options

I have the clamp seat mounts, ( found at yard sale) they work pretty good ,low profile and are adjustable. I keep mine a little loose, not too loose, but loose enought to slide side to side for level out the boat. Seats I got a Walmart, the cheap plastic ones.....wish I would have got the ones...
